Criteria: Homeowners or tenants of privately rented property age 60+ and/or disabled of any age.
Offers: Practical advice to home owners and tenants of privately rented accommodation who need help with repairs or improvements to their homes. Enables clients to stay in their own home, rather than move to alternative accommodation
At the Start:
v All Clients will be visited in their own home and their needs discussed in confidence
v Advice can be given on any repairs and improvement needed
v Design any drawings and specifications needed
v Help to find a reliable tradesman to do the work
v Advised on where the client may find the money to pay for the work
v Help the client through each stage until the work is finished
v In the unlikely event of any snags, Care & Repair staff will be on hand to assist in sorting them out.
Paying for the work:
Care & Repair Staff will advise the client on ways that the work may be paid for:
v Local Authority Grants
v Personal Savings
v Community Care Grants
v Trust Funds
v Benefit check and refer on
Cannot: Visit or work with council property.
